When I started dancing ballroom with my school in seventh grade, I was a happy kid. As the year went on, I started feeling insecure, not from any one thing. Subtle things that I noticed that started to add up. Meanwhile, I had made my school's dance team. During our summer intensives, it got worse. My family made "funny" comments about my body (saying I had gained weight, wasn't I a dancer and supposed to be thin, etc.). So that summer I skipped meals frequently, and I started to self-harm. This continued during the school year until my dance partner noticed. I started to get better and released through dance instead of a blade, and I choreographed a dance to "Warrior" by Demi Lovato as a representation of my recovery
