Story

I taught myself how to dance at 8 or 9 and hadn't really ever taken a dance class. I took part of a hip hop class two years ago, but it turned out that hip hop wasn't the right type of dance for me. I mostly do modern/contemporary. I saw a dance competition on TV and decided that that's what I wanted to do. I don't come from a family that has a lot of money so that's why I started teaching myself. I learned a lot of what I do by watching YouTube videos on the subject. Dance is the way that I express my feelings and emotions when words just aren't enough. It also helped me through a lot of heartbreak, like losing two of my grandfathers, because I could just dance all of the pain a sorrow away.
