I started getting involved in dance at the end of my sophomore year in high school. I joined my school's dance team without any dance experience whatsoever and big decisions like that aren't really ones I would normally make. I'm very reserved and need to be 110% sure of myself when I do something, so I really took a huge leap with doing what I did. I think that decision started a really huge change in myself because I would have NEVER thought that being in a dance club at school would encourage me so much and put me in the place that I am now. I have now been involved in dance for almost 4 years and am the dance coach for Advantage Gymnastics Academy's entire competition team, as well as recreational dance and gymnastics classes. If you told me that's where I would end up after graduating high school when I started dance in 2012 I probably wouldn't believe you. I've never worked so hard for anything in my entire life. I live and breath with these girls, they're my whole world. I have overcome so much to get the recognition I have now. I've had people who I thought were my friends tell me that dancing and teaching shouldn't be such a huge part in my life. Dancing is my passion and sharing that passion and that love to kids and to my girls is the biggest reward I'll ever receive and I will never let anyone get in the way of that. Overcoming earning the trust from them and the belief in myself has been the biggest journey. I know that I will be doing this for the rest of my life.
