I am about to be 69 years old. I have been dancing since the age of 2. Dance helped me to grow and become who I am today. My parents were not rich but they afforded me the opportunity to study dance. I was sickly as a child and being African American opportunities were not great in the dance arena. Dance is my way of life and I was determined to learn all I could but my vision was to share my craft with young people because I knew what it did for me. Dance was my way to cope and find solace. Dance overshadowed racism, poverty, lack of the lavish lifestyle I saw others have.i found Christ through dance. I was never able to say I danced with the greatest dancers but I have danced and I realized my gift was given to share with others.

To dance is to live and it belongs to you only to give it to others
