So I discovered dance when I was in eighth grade through my local color guard team. It was there that I grew to love dance. I felt free and one hundred percent me. As the years went on I began to have trouble with my knees and it started to limit my dancing ability. Fast forward to my senior year and I had a major injury that put my dancing to a halt. It has been three years since I have been able to really dance. I have had two surgeries so far to try and fix the injury. I have the third, and hopefully final surgery soon. I have never wanted something so badly as I do with dance. It allows me to connect with people in ways that I didn't know was possible.
I am just counting down the days till I can just step out on that floor and dance my heart out and become the dancer I know I can be.
