“I have danced since I was 3 years old. At age 9, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At 11, I was diagnosed with Arthritis. At 13, I fractured my spine and had 4 titanium screws put in my back. At 16, the screws broke and it took two surgeries to fix them. Now I am 17 and I am good to go, with a cage around the front of my spine and four new screws in my back.
I may not be able to dance like I use to, but I am at the studio four nights a week helping to teach children how to dance. I just love the look on the faces of the little dancers when I teach them something new or they finally nail a new step. It is just awesome! Nothing can take the music out of my heart and that is all I need!”
